Thank you OptiMize at the University of Michigan, for helping connect with amazing mentors like Jeni Olney and the education to get She’s Got Grit off the ground. I am looking forward to continue to grow, expand, and learn in the OptiMize Summer Fellowship.
Lastly, thank you to my parents, friends and family who supported me through thick and thin and stuck with me. When we were wrapping up the day’s event, facebook memories popped up to remind me a year ago this day I graduated with my Associate Degree from Washtenaw Community College. It was while at WCC I came up with the idea of a scholarship for young parents in high school, and today She’s Got Grit completed out first 5K fundraiser and have created the scholarship for a mother enrolled in high school for the 2022-2023 school year. I am truly amazed that today happened, and want to thank everyone AGAIN! Every single person who came out today and has helped me on my path to where I am today, is making a difference in the world and helping me share the spirt of Grit with everyone in the world.
